Intersection At County Line And Laurelwood Getting Much-Needed Upgrades

A notorious traffic hotspot in Lakewood is finally getting the attention it needs. The intersection of West County Line Road and Laurelwood Avenue, known for its high volume of accidents, is undergoing significant improvements.

Ocean County officials, in collaboration with Lakewood Township, have initiated a project to install a left-turn signal and realign lanes, enhancing traffic flow and safety. This marks the first phase of a comprehensive effort to revamp a large stretch of County Line Road and Kennedy Boulevard, spanning from Laurelwood Avenue to Squankum Road.

The project follows a series of public hearings and meetings, where proposed improvements were discussed and reviewed. Lakewood Township Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein praised the teamwork between local and county officials, saying it will benefit residents and motorists alike.
