Sparks flew at Tuesday evening’s Jackson Township Council meeting, with longtime rabble-rouser and provocateur Elenor Hannum being escorted out of the meeting and police officials criticizing Councilmen Nino Borelli and Steve Chisolm over their ‘no’ votes on an ordinance to establish the position of Public Safety Director – which the Council ultimately passed.
In Hannum’s case, she personally attacked Council President Jennifer Kuhn, falsely accusing her of having a personal relationship with the PBA president, who had endorsed the Public Safety Director position.
Immediately following Hannum’s accusation, Kuhn declared her “out of order” and requested that a police officer escort her out, as Hannum demanded that Kuhn not vote on the ordinance.
Police officers at the event complied, escorting the enraged and deranged Hannum out of the building.
Hannum’s comments were followed by PBA President Jeff Henba, who excoriated social media users for spreading falsehoods about his personal life on social media – presumably referring to Hannum’s accusation.
Henba went on to again proclaim his support for the establishment of the Public Safety Director position.
Addressing Councilman Borrelli directly, Henba said: “At the last Council meeting, Councilman Borrelli, who for the last two years was one of our police liaisons – yet never addressed these issues, nor met with the current staff – voted ‘no’ to this ordinance. He also insisted her supported the men and women in blue prior to voting.”
He went on to criticize Councilman Chisolm for also opposing the ordinance, questioning why the councilman would think the township would be sued over it.
