Howell Resident Struck And Killed While Crossing Route 9

A Howell resident was struck and killed on Route 9 on Sunday evening at the intersection of Strickland Road, Howell Police announced. Police said that at 7:51 pm, a Honda Civic being driven by another Howell resident was traveling southbound on Route 9 when it struck the pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.

The patient was taken to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Civic was uninjured in the crash, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim or driver.
