Howell Police Welcomes New Promotions: Sgt. Matt Cadott And Officer Andrew McCarthy

The Howell police department is celebrating the promotion of Sgt. Matt Cadott and the hiring of new officer Ptl. Andrew McCarthy, marking important additions to their team.

Sgt. Cadott, who joined the department in 2014, has worked across various roles, including the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau. Following his recent promotion, he will undergo a few weeks of Supervisory Field Training before officially stepping into his new role on the Evening Shift.

Joining him is Ptl. Andrew McCarthy, a new recruit from the Seaside Heights Police Department, where he served as a Special Officer. McCarthy, a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and former Track and Field athlete, brings energy and a fresh perspective to the force. He will complete several months of Field Training before being assigned to the Patrol Division.

In a lighthearted note, the department revealed that Sgt. Cadott “was standing on a box” in his official promotion photo.
