Howell Police Captain Inducted Into National Law Enforcement Officer Hall Of Fame

Captain Tom Rizzo of the Howell Township Police Department has been selected as this year’s recipient of the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame’s prestigious “Founders Award.” This honor is bestowed upon officers who demonstrate exceptional dedication both on and off duty, reflecting the highest standards of service and commitment to their communities.

Captain Rizzo, whose law enforcement career began in 2001, has been a pillar of the Howell Township Police Department since joining in 2004. Over the years, he has earned a reputation as a respected and admired figure within the community, recognized for his unwavering dedication to public safety and leadership.

Beyond his service in Howell Township, Captain Rizzo has gained national recognition through his role as a host on a program called “On Patrol Live,” where he brings greater visibility to the challenges and responsibilities of law enforcement.

Captain Rizzo’s induction ceremony, set for April 11, will mark a historic achievement as he becomes the first New Jersey officer to receive this distinguished honor. Since the Hall of Fame’s establishment in 2017, only 44 officers from 19 states have been inducted.
