The entirety of Lakewood’s rabbinic and askanic landscape is now united behind the candidacy of Avi Schnall, with a meeting held on Tuesday afternoon to coalesce support behind the New Jersey Agudah leader’s surging campaign to represent the 30th Legislative District in the state Assembly.
Avi and his team met with the Igud Hamosdos, which includes the roshei mosdos of more than 80 yeshivos and girls schools across Lakewood. Featuring addresses from Rav Malkiel Kotler, R’ Yosef Heinemann, philanthropist R’ Lazer Scheiner, and master mechanech R’ Osher Lederer, the roshei mosdos learned of the critical need to get out the vote in this election, and expressed their wholehearted support for Avi’s candidacy.
As support continues to grow, this may be the first time in Lakewood’s history that every major rav, rosh yeshiva, baal mosad, and baal tzedakah were all on the same page regarding the importance of electing a specific candidate – in this case, Avi Schnall to the Assembly.
