Hatzolah of Central Jersey has launched a new public awareness campaign highlighting the growing number of injuries involving e-scooters and e-bikes, urging parents to carefully consider the risks before purchasing the increasingly popular devices for their children.
According to Hatzolah, its members have responded to more than 50 calls involving e-scooter-related injuries in the past three months alone.
The campaign warns that e-scooters are “claiming and ruining lives every day” and encourages parents not to underestimate the dangers associated with the vehicles.
“Don’t endanger your child’s life,” the campaign states, emphasizing that many of the injuries Hatzolah personnel encounter are serious and often preventable.
In recent years, e-scooters and e-bikes have surged in popularity among children and teenagers due to their convenience, speed, and relatively low cost. At the same time, emergency responders nationwide have reported increasing numbers of crashes involving riders struck by vehicles, falls resulting in head trauma, fractures, and other significant injuries.
