That philosophy was recently put into practice as the Ocean County EMS Coordinators partnered with Lakewood Township EMS and numerous regional emergency service agencies to prepare for the challenges posed by multiple large-scale planned events occurring simultaneously within Lakewood.
The coordinated effort focused on operational planning, resource management, communications, and interagency cooperation to ensure emergency responders are prepared to effectively handle periods when several major events place increased demands on public safety and medical resources at the same time.
Participating agencies included Ocean County Sheriff 911, Lakewood First Aid, Hatzolah Central Jersey, Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad, RWJBH Mobile Health EMS, Toms River First Aid Squad 39, and Jackson Township EMS.
Officials thanked all participating agencies and the dedicated emergency responders who took part in the planning and training effort. They noted that while residents may only see the emergency personnel on standby at events, extensive preparation takes place behind the scenes to ensure communities remain safe when multiple large gatherings occur at the same time.
