Hatzolah of Central Jersey announced a series of organizational updates aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening its emergency medical services, according to a statement released to members of the organization.
The volunteer emergency medical service said the changes include the appointment of an additional captain and the creation of a new Advanced Life Support (ALS) Medical Committee to support its growing paramedic system.
According to the announcement, Uri Davidi has been appointed as a captain, effective immediately. The appointment was made by the organization’s Vaad in consultation with the Vaad HaRabanim. Hatzolah leadership said Davidi brings strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills to the role and will join the existing command structure overseeing operations.
In addition, Hatzolah of Central Jersey said it has established a new ALS Medical Committee to enhance oversight, training, and quality assurance within its paramedic division. The committee will operate under the guidance of Dr. Schwarzbaum and work in coordination with the organization’s captains.
The committee’s responsibilities will include quality assurance reviews of ALS calls, providing ongoing continuing education for paramedics, training and onboarding new ALS providers, and identifying candidates for future paramedic classes based on coverage needs.
Four paramedics have been appointed to serve on the new committee: Yumi Greenberg (L36), Nuchi Shapiro (L65), Motty Bakst (L77), and Menachem Lazar (L87).
