Lakewood Shomrim says it was at a yeshiva today where vandalism occurred and a swastika was spray-painted on a yeshiva-owned structure next door to the yeshiva itself.
In a statement released by Shomrim, the group said that an investigation into the incident is ongoing, with the help and collaboration of the Lakewood Police Department and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
“Lakewood Shomrim thanks the Lakewood Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for their swift response to the scene and for working with Shomrim and the yeshiva in investigating the crime,” Shomrim wrote on Instagram.
“Lakewood Shomrim urges anyone who is the victim of a hate crime or witnessed a hate crime being perpetrated to immediately contact the Lakewood Police Department and our 24-hour hotline at 732-367-1212.”
