Gubernatorial Candidate Sen. Jon Bramnick To Introduce Legislation To Unmask Anti-Israel Protestors

Republican New Jersey Senator Jon Bramnick, a candidate for the governorship in next year’s primary, announced his intention to introduce a bill that would stop protesters from wearing masks unless there is a legitimate religious or health reason to do so.

“The purpose of the bill will allow law enforcement to identify those who break the law during a protest,” said Sen. Bramnick.

While they were not specifically pointed at by Bramnick, many pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel protestors have masked themselves during demonstrations held since October 7 that at times veer into outright antisemitism and violence. One such anti-Israel protest was held at Jackson’s Veterans Memorial Gardens in May, with many of the protestors’ faces covered.

In New York, lawmakers and legislators have already been pushing to unmask anti-Israel protestors, and Nassau County in Long Island recently passed such a rule.
