Fundraiser Launched For Jackson Firefighter Who Suffered Devastating Injuries

A fundraiser has been launched to assist a Jackson firefighter who suffered severe facial injuries in an accident three days ago.

On Saturday, Sean Walker was involved in a serious accident when a tractor tire exploded. Sean was rushed to Centra State Hospital where plastic surgeons had to stitch his top and bottom lip back together, as both were ripped to the bones. He was then transferred to the Trauma ICU at Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and observation. With tests and scans, they found that Sean suffered from two broken eyes sockets, broken cheeks, nose and jaw bones, as well as 5 teeth getting knocked out.
His recovery will entail multiple surgeries, doctor’s visits, a bone graph to fix his jaw, and dental surgeries, including implants, to replace the teeth he lost.
The road to recovery is going to be very long and will cause both Sean and his wife Erica to be out of work for at least the next 8 weeks. The money raised will help cover some of the medical bills and financial bills to come during the time when they both can not work.
