Frum Candidate Loses Jackson Fire Commissioner Election by 19 Votes

Eliezer Bursztyn, a former Lakewood Fire Commissioner, lost his bid to become the Fire Commissioner for Jackson Fire District #3 by 19 votes on Motzei Shabbos.

Bursztyn has been a member of the Lakewood Fire Department for the last six years where he currently serves in the rank of captain. He was briefly a Fire Commissioner in Lakewood until he made a move to Jackson.

“Let this be a reminder that every vote counts,” one resident observed.

Also on the ballot in tonight’s election in Jackson was the fire department budget, which was approved by voters.
