A former OceanFirst Bank teller is facing multiple charges after authorities say she stole more than $200,000 from customers over a roughly two-year period.
According to the Lacey Township Police Department, 54-year-old Tiffany Prutzman of Barnegat surrendered at police headquarters on July 24 following an investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau.
Investigators say Prutzman worked as a teller at the OceanFirst Bank branch in Forked River and took approximately $212,400 in customer funds between 2024 and 2026. The money had been entrusted to her to be deposited into customers’ accounts, police said.
Prutzman was charged with second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition, money laundering, misapplication of property of a financial institution and computer criminal activity. She was also charged with third-degree tampering with records.
Following processing, Prutzman was transported to the Ocean County Jail.
The charges are accusations, and Prutzman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
