Former NJ Governor Chris Christie Jumping Into the 2024 Presidential Race

Former Governor Chris Christie is set to announce his run for the Republican nomination in 2024 next Tuesday in New Hampshire. In support of Christie’s direct communication style and distinctive persona, a political action committee called “Tell It Like it Is” has been formed by his longstanding allies.

What sets Christie apart from other contenders is his willingness to openly criticize former President Donald Trump on a regular basis. As a former presidential candidate himself in 2016, Christie sees himself as a candidate who can stand up to and provide a clear contrast with Trump, who is the early frontrunner in the polls.

“You better have somebody on that stage who can do to him what I did to Marco [Rubio], because that’s the only thing that’s gonna defeat Donald Trump,” Christie said in March. “And that means you have to be fearless, because he will come back, and right at you.”

Christie was alluding to a memorable moment from a 2016 presidential primary debate where he tore into Rubio, mocking his tendency to rely rehearsed, repetitive 30-second speeches throughout the debate, which resonated with the audience.

Christie has called Trump “a TV star, nothing more, nothing less.”

“Let me suggest to you that in putting him back in the White House, the reruns will be worse than the original show,” he told New Hampshire voters.

  1. Again?!?!?

    How dumb could he be?
His own constituents don’t care for him. There are much more popular candidates. He was a mockery in NJ. Why is he even embarrassing himself this way?!?

    • It’s called ego. No one is calling for him. Maybe 2% of people and he knows he has no shot.. The funny thing is he says that he’s the only one that will openly criticize Trump. I guess he hasn’t been listening to DeSantis who has been hitting back at Trump now that he has officially announced.
