A flight en route from Newark Liberty International Airport to Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport on Tuesday was forced to make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy Airport.
El Al Flight 28, which departed around 1 p.m., landed safely at JFK approximately two hours later at around 3 p.m. after being forced down due to an engine issue.
A passenger aboard the aircraft tells Lakewood Alerts that while everyone is okay, they will not be able to depart again for Israel until Wednesday afternoon, and to make matters worse, their luggage won’t make it to Israel until the end of the week.

The flight picture makes no sense whatsoever. The east coast of America should be on the left with the plane flying toward the right, not the other way around. But I guess it’s Lakewood.
Sorry, but rather than being grateful for landing safely, people are worried about their luggage. “To make matters worse, their luggage won’t make it to Israel until the end of the week.” After losing an engine, the last thing I would care about is losing my luggage.
