A wrong-way crash on Route 70 in the early hours of Thursday morning left five people hospitalized, some with serious injuries.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. when a vehicle carrying four occupants mistakenly turned from Shorrock Street into the wrong-direction lanes heading east, colliding head-on with another car driven by a lone motorist.
Emergency personnel responded swiftly, transporting all five individuals to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been fully disclosed, but some are reported to be significant.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
