Fist Significant Snowfall in New Jersey Possible as Winter Storm Rolls in Wednesday

A winter storm on Wednesday could bring as much as 5 inches of snow to parts of northwestern New Jersey on Wednesday, though the Lakewood region isn’t expected to get nearly that much – if any at all.

While heavy rain is forecast for Lakewood and its general area, snow is expected to start falling in a broad swath of New Jersey shortly after 7 am Wednesday morning, though much of it will turn over to rain by the evening, according to the National Weather Service, which could make for some very dangerous driving conditions.

The areas expected to be hit hardest are Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties in the northwestern part of New Jersey, with accumulations of up to 5 inches possible.
