Fish Falls Out Of Sky, Knocks Out Power For Thousands Of New Jerseyans

Perhaps it was swimming in the waters mimaal larakia. Whatever the cause, an actual fish dropped out of the sky and struck a transformer, knocking out the power for thousands across Sayreville, New Jersey.

“There is a large area of Lower Sayreville without power. [Jersey Central Power & Light] is reporting a [fish emoji] was found on a transformer. This FISH destroyed the transformer!,” the Sayreville Police Department posted to its Facebook page.

Police said they believe that the fish was dropped by a predator bird that had snatched it up from a lake or river. It just happened to have landed in just the right spot to cause mayhem.

The power outage affected roughly 2,100 customers for several hours before being resolved, according to JCP&L.
