FIRST REPORT: Universal School Lunch Bill Will Now Simply Raise Poverty Income Levels [VIDEO]

Agudath Israel’s New Jersey Director Rabbi Avi Schnall provided an update to the much-heralded universal school lunch bill that has been winding its way through the New Jersey Legislature.

As seen in the video below, Rabbi Schnall says lawmakers have updated the bill to raise the income limit to be eligible for free lunches, rather than simply giving free lunches to everyone regardless of income.

The updated bill does still include private schools, following Agudah’s advocacy this week to have them included.
