Firefighters Respond to Lakewood Brush Fire, Let Blaze Burn Out Safely [VIDEOS]

Firefighters from the Lakewood Fire Department and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service responded to a brush fire on Sunday afternoon near Drake Road and Neiman Road. The fire, which had spread to approximately a quarter-acre before crews arrived, was quickly assessed and determined to pose no immediate threat to nearby homes or structures.

Upon arrival, firefighters evaluated the situation and opted to let the fire burn out naturally while maintaining close supervision to ensure it did not spread beyond the contained area. The decision, a common practice in managing small, low-risk brush fires, allowed firefighters to control the situation without unnecessary intervention.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service issued an advisory earlier in the day warning of a high risk for wildfires today due to the weather conditions.
