Lakewood firefighters are currently at the scene of a heavy blaze at a home on Columbus Avenue.
The fire began shortly after 11 pm and quickly erupted into a fully engulfed structure fire, requiring a hasty evacuation of the home, as well as an adjacent one threatened by the blaze.
Mutual aid has been called in from nearby fire departments due to the severity of the blaze.
Update: The fire was brought under control at around midnight. Crews are continuing to work at the scene.
