The FBI has launched an investigation into a series of unexplained UFO sightings, believed to be drones, in New Jersey, stirring unease among local residents. The apparent drones, active primarily during late-night hours, have sparked widespread speculation and concern.
Mike Walsh, a resident who first spotted the drones in mid-November, noted the sightings have become a nightly occurrence. “We’ve been seeing them every night, except Thanksgiving. I guess they took the night off,” Walsh quipped. Despite contacting the police, Walsh said he has received no clear answers.
Social media platforms have been abuzz with theories, ranging from UFO speculation to fears of surveillance. “People think they’re UFOs, or we’re being spied on,” Erica Campbell, another local, shared. Others, like Alexis Calle, question the drones’ objectives: “What were they looking for?”
In response to the growing alarm, local authorities and county prosecutors released a joint statement to quell rumors. “There is no known threat to public safety,” the statement read, urging residents to approach online speculation with caution.
By Monday, the FBI confirmed its involvement in the investigation, while local police continue to monitor the situation.
