Jackson Councilman Marty Flemming has been serving in his position despite not living in Jackson, a Lakewood Alerts investigation has conclusively found. By law, councilmembers must live in Jackson Twp. to serve on the Council, or any government body.
Flemming stepped down from the position of Council President several months ago but remained on the Council, and he has told allies that he plans to resign fully from Jackson government in the near future.
However, months have passed and Flemming has made no such announcement.
With rumors of Flemming not being a resident of Jackson, Lakewood Alerts launched an investigation into the matter, and the results have confirmed the suspicions: Marty Flemming does not live in Jackson anymore.
The evidence we have amassed will be released in articles over the coming days.
A Jackson Council meeting will be taking place on Tuesday evening. It remains to be seen whether Flemming will be questioned by residents and/or officials over why he continues to serve on the Council, which he is not legally allowed to be on.
