Emergency Power Outage Scheduled for Portions of Northeast Lakewood

An emergency power outage is scheduled for today, January 27, affecting portions of northeast Lakewood as crews conduct urgent repairs to the electric system, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

Approximately 4,873 customers are expected to experience a brief service interruption between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Company officials said all affected customers will receive a reverse notification advising them of the outage window.

JCP&L said the emergency outage is necessary to ensure the safety of emergency responders and to prevent damage to electrical equipment. Officials noted that proceeding with the repairs under controlled conditions is intended to reduce the risk of a more prolonged, unplanned outage.

Customers in the affected area are advised to plan accordingly during the scheduled interruption.
