Election Day 2024: Everything Voters Need to Know to Make Their Vote Count

Today, voters locally and across the country head to the polls for Election Day 2024. For those casting their ballots in person or via mail, here’s what you need to know to make sure your vote counts.

In-Person Voting

  • Where to Vote: To find your designated polling location, check online or refer to your sample ballot, which includes the location information. You can also call the Ocean County Board of Elections at 732-929-2167 for polling locations and to report any voting issues
  • Poll Hours: Polling locations are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vote-by-Mail Options

  • Ballot Drop Boxes: If you’re using a vote-by-mail ballot, you can drop it off at any Monmouth County ballot drop-box. All ballots must be in the drop box by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.
  • Mailing Your Ballot: If you plan to mail your ballot, ensure it’s postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5, and that it reaches the Board of Elections by Nov. 11 to be counted.
  • Tracking Your Mail-In Ballot: To verify that your mail-in ballot has been received and counted, you can track it online through the state’s ballot tracking system.
