DWI, OBSTRUCTION: Lakewood Police Department’s Weekly Blotter

June 18, 2023 – At 4 pm, A motor vehicle crash was reported on rt. 70 and Officer Leonardo Shimonovich was dispatched to the scene. Toni Paoliello, a 48-year-old resident of Lakewood, NJ, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was charged with the following: DWI, Carless Driving, Reckless Driving, and Open Alcoholic Beverage in Vehicle.

Sgt. Andrew Solomon, Officers Joshua Gianoulis, and Louis Vadino assisted in the investigation.

June 18, 2023 – At 3 pm, Officer Joseph Mandelbaum responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Ocean Avenue. Evelin Jacob Ponce-Lopez, 33 years old, from Lakewood, NJ was arrested for DWI. He was charged with the following: DWI, Reckless Driving, and Endangering the welfare of a child.

Officers Eric Vega, Christopher Johnson, and Amanda Esmart assisted in the investigation.

WANTED PERSON
June 16, 2023 – At 7 pm, While patrolling the Clifton Avenue area, Officers Mathew McAvoy and Joseph Soriano noticed that Israel Perez Martinez, a 37-year-old from Lakewood, NJ, appeared to be intoxicated. They contacted dispatch to check for any active warrants and confirmed that Martinez had one. He was subsequently arrested, processed at headquarters, and taken to OCJ.

OBSTRUCTION
June 16, 2023 – At midnight, Police Officer Bryan Vega received a dispatch call regarding a disturbance caused by a small group of males in the vicinity of Third St. Upon arrival at the scene, officers intended to transport the individuals and notify their parents regarding the curfew violation. However, it was later revealed that one of the individuals provided the officer with a false name and age. Consequently, Cristian Gamec, a 20-year-old from Howell, NJ, was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension.

Officers Julian Guzman, Jacob Matthews, Anthony Prisco, and Daniel Hourigan assisted in the investigation.
