Driver Seriously Injured in Thanksgiving Day Parkway Crash in Toms River

A 28-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a Thanksgiving evening crash on the Garden State Parkway, according to New Jersey State Police.

Jason Kroessig, 28, was driving northbound in a Lexus SUV when his vehicle veered off the road near milepost 86.7 at approximately 6:50 p.m., State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron reported. The SUV struck multiple trees on the right side of the highway, causing significant damage.

Kroessig sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported for medical treatment. Details on his condition were not immediately available.

Shortly after, a second crash occurred on the southbound side of the Parkway near milepost 85 at 7:08 p.m., involving four vehicles. Fortunately, the injuries in this incident were reported as minor, Lebron said.

Both crashes remain under investigation, and no further details have been released.
