Driver Crashes, Flips Car, Takes Out Traffic Light and Power Lines in Lakewood [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

A chaotic scene unfolded Sunday night at the intersection of Lanes Mill Road and Joe Parker Road when an allegedly intoxicated driver lost control of his vehicle, causing it to flip and take down a traffic light along with overhead power lines.

Lakewood Police quickly arrived and took the driver into custody. While miraculously no injuries were reported, the crash caused significant disruption to traffic and power in the area.

Firefighters responded to secure the scene and prevent further hazards, while crews from Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) worked into the night to restore electricity and repair the damaged traffic light system.
