Dr. Kasriel (Rich) Roberts on Sunday hosted a fundraiser for Rep. Chris Smith, as the incumbent congressman seeks the Republican nomination to serve New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District for another term.
Over a dozen donors from the Lakewood community were in attendance at the fundraiser held in Dr. Roberts’ home, with substantial funds pledged to the congressman’s campaign.
Since first joining the House of Representatives more than 4 decades ago, Rep. Smith has proven himself to be a fierce defender of the Jewish community and all his constituents. His career-long emphasis on preserving and restoring human rights has culminated in the congressman’s co-chairmanship of the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.
Deeply popular in his district, and consistently ranked among the top congressman willing to work with anyone to advance important issues, Rep. Smith is widely expected to win the GOP nomination in June against a handful of upstart rivals.
