Dr. Rich Roberts and Rabbi Mordechai Hirsch Show Their Support for Jackson Police Explorers Fundraiser

On Wednesday, Dr. Rich Roberts and his son-in-law, Rabbi Mordechai Hirsch, took part in a special meeting with representatives of the Jackson Police Explorers program, as well Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz and Captain Mary Nelson and other officials.

The Jackson Police Explorers is a program designed for students interested in getting involved with helping the community and learning about law enforcement as a profession.

Dr. Roberts and Rabbi Hirsch showed their support for the great work the Explorers do in introducing young residents to the world of law enforcement and stressed the importance of community involvement in this amazing program.

This year, the annual fundraiser arranged by the Explorers has been dedicated to raising funds for the medical care for a two-year-old Jackson resident in need of a kidney transplant, rather than raising money for the Explorer program itself. Dr. Roberts and Rabbi Hirsch, joined by other family members, presented a generous donation of $2,000 towards the fundraiser’s goal of raising $25,000 for the child and his family to help them deal with their difficult challenges and ordeals.

Chief Kunz and Captain Nelson expressed their appreciation for the support and thanked Dr. Roberts and Rabbi Hirsch for exemplifying the importance of good community relations and how much good work can be done when neighbors work together.
