New Jersey residents have just four weeks left to register to vote ahead of the November 4 General Election, state officials are reminding the public.
The deadline is fast approaching, and advocates are warning that with so much at stake in this year’s races, every eligible voter should take steps now to ensure their voice will be heard at the polls.
Residents can register to vote or confirm their registration status online at www.nj.gov/state/elections/voter-registration.shtml. Voters may also text VOTE to 60939 to begin the process.
The November 4 General Election will decide a host of local and state contests, shaping New Jersey’s direction on critical issues in the years ahead. Officials stress that registering in advance is the only way to guarantee access to the ballot box.
Eligible residents must be at least 17 years old to register (and 18 by Election Day), a U.S. citizen, and a resident of the county where they intend to vote.
