CRISIS: Girls High School Acceptance Process Falls Apart

An urgent email sent to parents of girls in both elementary and high schools across Lakewood states that the system which has been in place for nearly two decades has effectively fallen apart.

“For the past 18 years, we had a system in place, and we had a coordinated approach to high school acceptance,” the email says.

This changed this year and girls are now being offered quick responses from high schools – similar to how mesivtas currently operate.

“Due to unforseen circumstances, there is no system,” the email warns parents. “I hope the schools can work together to make sure that every girl has a place. There will be no Vaad assistance.”
