Crash On Route 9 Involving 7 Vehicles Leaves 1 Dead

A devastating multi-vehicle crash claimed one life on Tuesday morning near the Freehold Raceway Mall, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. The accident, which involved seven vehicles, occurred around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Route 9 and Business Route 33.

Eyewitness reports suggest that the driver of a vehicle heading north on Route 9 failed to slow down for stopped traffic at a red light, causing a catastrophic chain reaction. The car collided with multiple vehicles, including cars, trucks, and vans, resulting in one of the trucks flipping over. Authorities are investigating whether the driver, who may have experienced a medical emergency, was the primary cause of the collision.

The aftermath of the accident led to the closure of Route 9 North for five hours as investigators and cleanup crews worked at the scene. The extent of other injuries, if any, has not been disclosed. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is at the forefront of the investigation, seeking to determine the precise circumstances of the crash.
