The Lakewood Police Department has charged a Monroe Township woman with third-degree theft following an investigation into a reported incident involving a third-party courier delivery, authorities said.
According to police, the investigation began on November 17, 2025, when an employee of a Lakewood business reported that merchandise sent out for same-day delivery was never received by the intended recipient. The business regularly uses a third-party courier service for local deliveries, and records indicated that a pickup had been scheduled for September 30, 2025.
Delivery documentation later showed that the shipment was marked as delivered to an incorrect location. Police said efforts to contact both the courier and the delivery service were unsuccessful.
The initial report was taken by Officer Johnson, and the case was later assigned to Detective Stefanelli. As part of the investigation, Detective Stefanelli reviewed delivery records, supporting documentation, and surveillance images related to the pickup.
As a result of the investigation, police identified the courier as Jordain Carson, 31, of Monroe, New Jersey. Carson has been charged with third-degree theft.
The case remains pending court proceedings.
