Bill Spadea, a conservative radio talk show host on NJ 101.5, has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey in 2025.
Spadea pledged to make the state more affordable, stop “indoctrinating kids” in schools, and prevent President Joe Biden from sending undocumented immigrants to New Jersey.
Spadea, who describes himself as “unapologetically conservative, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, and pro-Trump,” promised to tackle issues such as taxes, spending, and inflation, and to restore “common sense” to the state. He also vowed to make tough budget cuts, fix school funding, and stop “free handouts” to undocumented immigrants.
Spadea has been building a grassroots political organization, Common Sense Club, and has gained support from Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore.
He joins a Republican field that includes State Sen. Jon Bramnick, former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, and former State Sen. Ed Durr.
In his launch video, Spadea took aim at Ciattarelli, who came close to defeating Gov. Phil Murphy in 2021, saying that Republicans need a fresh face, not a “35-year career politician who’s already lost twice for governor.”
