Community Safety Update From The Lakewood Police Department

Dear Residents,

As many of you are aware, there are ongoing events unfolding overseas involving Israel and Iran. While these developments are taking place far from our community, we understand that international conflicts can raise concern locally, particularly in a diverse community such as ours.

The Lakewood Police Department has been closely monitoring the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, we have increased patrols throughout the township, with particular attention to houses of worship, schools, and other community gathering locations. We remain in direct communication with our federal, state, and county law enforcement partners to ensure that we are receiving the most current intelligence and guidance.

At this time, we are not aware of any imminent or specific threats to Lakewood. However, we will continue to remain vigilant and proactive in our efforts to safeguard our community.

Public safety is a shared responsibility. If you see something that appears suspicious or out of place, please report it immediately. Your awareness and cooperation are vital to keeping Lakewood safe.

Chief Gregory Meyer stated, “The safety of our residents remains our top priority. We are actively monitoring global events, coordinating with our law enforcement partners at every level, and taking proactive steps to ensure our community remains secure. We encourage everyone to stay alert and to contact us if they see anything concerning.”
