A Brick Township man has pled guilty to possessing and intending to distribute a significant quantity of cocaine, following an investigation that uncovered illegal narcotics stored at a Jackson Township storage facility, authorities announced Monday.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, Raheem Montgomery, 50, entered a guilty plea on Monday to Possession of More than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. Prosecutors will seek a 12-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison at his sentencing, scheduled for August 1.
The charges stem from an investigation conducted in July and August of 2024 by the Jackson Township Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit, which determined that Montgomery was using a storage unit in Jackson as a hub to store and distribute illegal narcotics.
Detectives began surveillance on the facility and observed Montgomery arriving and departing the location on August 10, 2024. He was pulled over shortly afterward for a motor vehicle violation and arrested upon discovery that his license was suspended. A search following his arrest revealed a large quantity of cocaine in his possession.
Authorities later executed court-approved search warrants on both Montgomery’s vehicle and the Jackson storage unit. They recovered additional quantities of cocaine along with approximately 100 oxycodone pills.
Montgomery was initially taken to the Ocean County Jail but was released under the guidelines of New Jersey Bail Reform.
