It was recently announced that the Chernobyler Rebbe—who does not generally travel around to other communities—will spend an uplifted Shabbos among the burgeoning Lakewood community, America’s Torah metropolis, enabling chassidim and admirers to warm themselves by the glow of the Rebbe’s tefillos and tischen

One of the generation’s most senior and respected Admorim, hundreds of Yidden from throughout Boro Park come to witness the Rebbe’s avodah and warmth in his tefillos and tischen. Now, Lakewood will have the zehchus to witness a “Chernobyler Shabbos” in all of its glory and holiness.

The Rebbe will utilize the opportunity of this journey to raise funds for the magnificent Chernobyler Shul that is being built in Boro Park. It has been under construction for some years now, and massive funds are needed in order to complete the project.

It has been fifteen years since the Rebbe has spent a Shabbos in Lakewood—and this Shabbos Parashas Mishpatim, history will repeat itself.

The Rebbe will conduct all tefillos and tischen in the large Skulener Shul No’am Eliezer as the Skulener Rebbe of Lakewood will be visiting the Toronto community that Shabbos.

Scores of Chernobyler chassidim from outside Lakewood are expected to descend upon the ihr haTorah in honor of the Rebbe’s visit, and an entire group of askonim are working around the clock to ensure that everyone is accommodated.

While in Lakewood, the Rebbe will visit the homes of donors to the Beis Medrash to gather the funds for the ongoing project, as well as visit local Rabbonim and Admorim and accept visitors in search of chizuk and guidance.
