Chaveirim Warns Drivers After Multiple Vehicles Damaged By New Median At Route 9 And Main Street

Motorists are being urged to use extra caution at the intersection of Route 9 and Main Street after multiple vehicles suffered flat tires and other damage from a newly installed median.

Although the intersection reopened over the weekend, the roadway project has not yet been completed. Repaving and reflective striping remain unfinished, making the new median difficult for some drivers to see, particularly at night.

Chaveirim of Central Jersey says it has already responded to more than 10 calls involving flat tires at the location. Several vehicles also sustained more significant damage, including bent rims and damaged axles.

In an effort to prevent additional incidents, Chaveirim volunteers placed large temporary reflective cones around the median to improve its visibility until the state completes the project.

Drivers traveling through the area are urged to slow down, remain alert, and use extra caution until the remaining work is finished.
