What began as a simple car swap turned into a timely rescue on Sunday morning, thanks to a series of unexpected events and a lot of hashgacha pratis.
A Chaveirim volunteer had planned to head upstate for visiting day when he discovered mechanical issues with his vehicle. Another member—who was out of town for the weekend—generously offered his own truck, telling him to stop by his apartment and take the keys.
When the first volunteer arrived early Sunday morning to pick up the keys, he noticed that heavy overnight rain had left a significant pool of water collecting at the bottom of the building’s stairwell, posing an imminent threat to the apartment below.
Fortunately, as a Chaveirim member, he had the tools on hand to quickly pump out the water and prevent flooding. But the story didn’t end there.
As an employee of an excavation company, he went one step further—literally identifying the exact point where water had been seeping through the foundation, allowing for targeted repairs to prevent future issues.
What began as a vehicle malfunction became a perfectly timed intervention—saving a fellow member’s home from potential damage.

Hashem sent a wonderful messenger to help another Yid.
