A bizarre scene unfolded Tuesday evening on Skyline Drive in Lakewood, when a vehicle slammed through the garage doors of a home and remained lodged inside for nearly an hour before authorities were alerted.
Sources told Lakewood Alerts that the car appeared to have plowed directly into the home’s garage, smashing through the doors and coming to a stop deep inside the structure. Despite the dramatic impact, no injuries were reported.
However, both the vehicle and the home sustained significant damage, with the garage doors destroyed and the front of the car crumpled from the collision. It remains unclear what led to the crash or why emergency services were not contacted immediately.
The vehicle reportedly remained stuck inside the garage in a mangled position for close to an hour before a 911 call was finally made requesting assistance.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and began working to assess the structural damage and remove the vehicle from the garage. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
