Can You Benefit From Subsidized Health Insurance? – Find Out Today!

You are self-employed, or on payroll. Your income is too high to qualify for Medicaid but you do not have employer based health insurance. That does not mean that the cost of health insurance needs to financially cripple you.

Get Covered NJ is New Jersey’s health insurance marketplace that enables you to purchase health insurance, for both adults and children. Even individuals and families with substantially higher incomes that the Medicaid eligibility limits can qualify for subsidies to keep quality health insurance within reach.

The “Open Enrollment” season for Get Covered NJ is now in full swing, with only a few weeks left. There are only days left to get covered for the beginning of 2025. At this time, every NJ resident can enroll in an insurance plan on the market, even if they did not have a special qualifying event, such as a birth, loss of job, new job, insurance termination, etc. Once this period passes, most New Jerseyans will not be eligible to enroll in a new plan for nearly another year.

Do you qualify for subsidies? How much will it cost you? What are the plan options? Can you keep your current doctor?

Get answers to these and all other Get Covered NJ related questions at a special event held today, Tuesday, December 24th, from 4:00-6:30 pm at 525 route 70 West, Suite A2, in Lakewood. A certified insurance broker and Get Covered NJ expert, Shulem Waldman, will be present to answer all questions on a one-on-one basis, in both English and Yiddish. No reservations are necessary and there is no charge to attend.

This special event is joint project of the Lakewood Development Corporation (LDC); Lakewood Community Services (LCSC); and the CARES organization. “Enrolling in a proper health insurance plan is both practically necessary and required,” explains Rabbi Lipa Klein, Director of CARES. “It is our privilege to once again be there for the Lakewood community and help our families protect their physical and financial wellbeing at the same time.”
