Bus Driver Shortages Continue to Plague Lakewood

It’s no secret that bus drivers have been hard to come by in the past year plus. Ever since students began resuming in-person education, bus companies have been struggling to find even the minimum number of drivers to cover their routes.

Bus companies have been desperate in their searches, with some even hiring less-than-qualified individuals to drive their vehicles, which has resulted in some disastrous results.

The Lakewood Student Transportation Administration (LSTA) has now notified numerous parents around town that they will no longer be able to provide busing for their children due to the bus driver shortage.

To make matters worse, the LSTA will not be providing refunds or aid-in-lieu to assist parents in covering the cost of finding their own transportation methods to get their children to school.
