Brick Woman Charged With Forging Prescriptions For Dangerous Drugs

The Brick Township Street Crimes Unit executed a residential search warrant at a residence in Berkeley Township. Detectives were investigating Candace Colbert, 60-year-old female from Berkeley Township, NJ, who was suspected of stealing RX prescription blanks from a doctor’s office where she was employed in Brick Township.

The investigation revealed that over time, beginning in March of 2022, Colbert forged and fraudulently passed thirty-six Rx scripts for prescriptions at pharmacies in Toms River.

Colbert was charged with the following: Possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, intent to distribute crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, obstructing administration of law, possession of prescription legend drugs, obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, forgery by writing, theft of movable property and practice of medicine by unlicensed person.

Colbert was processed at Brick Police Headquarters and released on a summons.
