BREAKING: Lakewood Township Committee Rejects 150-Foot Buildings, Approves 75-Footers

At its meeting on Thursday afternoon, the Lakewood Township Committee did not follow-through on an ordinance that would have allowed the construction of unprecedented 150-foot buildings in Lakewood.

Mayor Ray Coles noted that the township likely can’t handle such large structures at this point, and instead moved to amend the ordinance to 75-foot tall buildings, which then passed unanimously.

Discussions had been underway to allow 150-foot tall buildings at the site of a massive wildfire which destroyed multiple structures in Lakewood back in 2020.
