National Weather Service Confirms 4 Tornadoes, Including in Jackson, Howell

The National Weather Service has confirmed that four separate tornados touched down in New Jersey during yesterday’s violent storm.

One tornado touched down in Jackson; a second tornado was confirmed in Howell, a third in Cinnaminson, and a fourth in Sea Girt.

The NWS has not yet provided additional details beyond that, such as how powerful the tornadoes were.

However, sources tell Lakewood Alerts that the Jackson tornado is believed to have been an EF-2 with winds up to 130 mph. The NWS will release its full official report later today.

Crews are still working feverishly to restore power to more than 10,000 homes that remain in the dark following the storm.
