Jackson Planning Board Approves Yeshiva Dorm Application

The Jackson Zoning Board has approved a dormitory application from Yeshiva Tiferes Talmud on Brewers Bridge Road – the very first yeshiva dorm application heard by the Board since the township agreed to settle discrimination lawsuits over just such facilities.

The applicant, Lakewood resident Mark Tress, sought to put a dorm that could hold around 60 students. The zoning in the area does not allow for dorms, thus requiring a variance.

Specifically, the property is located behind two residential structures and is only accessible by way of a driveway that cuts between those residences.
