In a rare and strongly worded public letter, the roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha (BMG), are urging the Lakewood Jewish community to register to vote ahead of the upcoming state primary elections.
In a letter, the roshei yeshiva emphasized the importance of expressing hakaras hatov to the State of New Jersey by participating in the democratic process through voting. They called voting “an expression of trust and appreciation” toward the government and framed it as both a civic responsibility and a moral imperative.
“As citizens of this benevolent state,” the letter reads, “it is our obligation to express our gratitude through the right to vote, which reflects our concern and the trust we feel toward the government.”
The letter also highlights the critical opportunity elections present for influencing public policy in a way that benefits both the individual and the broader community: “Our participation in elections is one of the most effective and appropriate means of bringing great benefit to the individual and public alike through the selection of worthy candidates.”
The letter closes with a direct appeal for all eligible community members to register in the voting registry, so they may take part in the elections and “fulfill their civic responsibility and bring benefit to the many.”

To vote and to rally for one Goyish party against another Goyish party presents no problem for the Gedolim, to be visibly interfering in Esav’s communities in the Diaspora os not problematic, but to vote for the most Frum group in the WZO elections is Assur Gamur despite previous rulings by Rav Kanievski, zt”l? This must be what our Neviim meant when they prophesied that just before our redemption ip would be down right & wrong would indistinguishable and we wouldn’t know who to trust. 😒
