BMG Purchases Woodlake Country Club for $18 Million

Beth Medrash Govoha has closed on its deal with the owners of the defunct 150-acre Woodlake golf course off New Hampshire Ave. to buy its property and structures for $18 million.

The site, which closed in 2018 and has been under contract since 2019, had one building used as a BMG bais medrash under a lease, and was also CHEMED’s primary Covid-19 vaccine site in the early days of the shot’s availability.

The golf course was built in 1972 and its country club boasted a restaurant and ballroom that could hold 500 guests.

How BMG plans to use the former golf course and its banquet halls hasn’t yet been announced, but the yeshiva has been eager to add additional properties to its portfolio for batei medrashim and other facilities.

  1. Wondering if BMG will make a wedding hall there. They certainly have the acreage to make a sufficiently sized parking lot, unlike many of the other simcha halls in town.
